• my designs . . .

During my twelve years as art director at Kirchoff/Wohlberg, Inc., I managed a staff of designers, production artists, photo researchers, illustrators, and pre-press professionals to create books for the vast K-12 school market. When K/W closed, I became production director at Q2A/Bill Smith, where I worked successfully with PitStop and CMS systems: K4, Woodwings, MediaBin, and Alfresco.

As art director and advisor for Valentine New York, I design and lay out all publications (high-end art magazines and coffee table books) and deliver final PDFs to the printer.

  • . . . and my art

My art has been called captivating, provocative, and intellectually stimulating. Anguish, pressures of everyday life, contemplation of world events, and memories of persecution—all deep-seated emotions—are the pervasive elements depicted in my abstract expressionism.

I was a photography teaching assistant while a student at Pace University, and after graduating, I became an adjunct professor. I then went on to explore my love of color as a specialist at Marvin Kommel Productions in NYC.

I pursued painting and drawing in the Master of Fine Arts program at LIU – C.W. Post, and taught drawing classes to foundation design majors, curating and hanging the annual Foundation Design show.

While busy raising my family and working as a full-time art director, my personal artistic expression took a back seat. Slowly, as my children grew, so did my return to the easel.

In 2009 I began an important personal body of work, Trafficking, sparked by Haïti’s restaveks.

My newest series is Elements. Within each painting are parts (elements) to be discovered and interpreted by the observer. Each element will represent something different to each viewer.

I’m introspective and don't talk a lot. Instead, I express myself on canvas. I prefer to observe and then share my perspective and interpretation through my art.
